Hi,
I am totally blind and used to do rituals with a pagan church where i lived before. Now i live in Iowa so don't have that option. I need to read a guide for the solitary practioner by scott cunningham to learn the basics but its geared toward sighted wiccans I am not sure how to even begin i live in town so cant even light a fire I cant have anything burning in my house so cant really practice in private my next door neighbor has a christian flag on his patch of yard. I am so not sure what to do so I just listen to music and pray the best i know how because no one taught me how to pray to the gods either.

Shouldn't put my oar in, as I admittedly know so little about this, but I would guess that you should just take the bits you are able to do and identify with, and not worry about the rest. If a ritual has to be down to the letter, then the spirit of it is lost, if you're more concerned about doing it right, than of the intent behind it...if that made sense at all. I mean, you're not always going to have access to a bunch of tools and remember a list of chants and this and that, but this is your religion, it's meant to serve you and be a comfort, not a chore and something you should worry about getting right. And certainly if you feel barred from making the most of it because of sighted/blind reasons, or because you think prayer needs to be something you learn, that there's a right and wrong way to do it, maybe it's not for you?

But in practical terms, I'd stick with battery operated candles, for example, rather than risking setting your curtains on fire trying to use the real thing, if that's a source of concern! There must be alternative ways of accomplishing these things.

Yeah pretty much what she said. Its just whatever you feel comfortable doing and your intent and energy you put towards your spells and prayers is what matters. Tools like candles and other things are nice but you don't absolutely need to have them. The Witch school website can help you. Also I am able to teach first degree classes but you have to not seem like you are struggling with it so much. How did you feel when you were at your Wiccan church? What parts of the rituals did you participate in?

I called quarters that was about it they really didnt offer me a lot to do honestly I kinda had to offer myself so to speak its like they didnt think i could do it. I am a student of witchschool but havent been there in a while. I need to get things organized as far as getting back into witchschool right now i am trying to gather resources and witchschool is one particular tradition and i am not sure if i follow plus its a bit backwards from what i was taught where i was doing rituals
